‘Dj Luke smooth’

He Has been involved with the love of Hip-Hop and R&B since he was 14, while watching MTV RAPS with Doctor Dré & Ed Lover. Back in the day he was listening to cassette tapes from the artists such as (Ice T , N.W.A. , Public Enemy , BDK , EPMD , Nice & Smooth , Gangstar) and other influential artists and Dj pioneers

His first gig after returning back from NYC was Hosting his own Urban night called the Players club. which was hosted at the Legendary Venue k1 Club and Bar Owned by the one and only Martyn The Hat While Djing in K1 he was spotted by another Dj/Promoter by the name of Mr Savage. Thank You Adam for the chance and the Foot in the Door of one of the biggest Clubs on the South Coast the legendary Zoo & Cage Adam was the Resident Dj at one of the best urban club nights in the south coast then called Zoo & Cage also known as Element’s nightclub and now is called Cameo which is a 2.3k capacity super club.

Adam was impressed by his style and music which then was fresh off the plane from NYC, he asked Luke smooth to play a guest set at the club after he Rocked the crowd, he was asked back every week to play which formed into a residency for over 10 years. Along the way in his career, he moved on to becoming a Radio Broadcaster he appeared on Fire Radio as a guest Dj, and had his own shows on (K1 Radio, Dj Lounge, Afro-disiac Radio)

A few years later he joined the world-famous Label BMG Records which he with the Street Team, He promoted such artists as P-Diddy, Busta Rhymes, Usher, Outkast, N.E.R.D and many more. He went on to Dj alongside other DJ’s such as Dj Jazzy Jeff, Tim Westwood, Dj 279, Dj Swerve, Trevor Nelson, Shortie Blitz & Big Ted.And artists such as TQ, Missy Elliott, Ini kamoze, Punjabi Mc, Black Twang, Skinny Man, So Solid Crew, Shola Ama, Craig David plus many many more

He has also played overseas at places like New York, Faliraki, Kos, Tenerife, and Ibiza.To date he is part of DefJam Records which is under the umbrella of Universal Island Records. He has also worked with Brands such as: Twice as Nice, Slick & Sexy, Radio 1, and more.

Luke Smooth is an Open Format Dj and the genres he can mix are and not Limited to R&B, Hip-Hop, House, Dance, Mash-up 80’s and Rock.
